Houston Oilers Tribute Part 2-Earl Campbell #34

Just got to love the punishment he puts on the defenders.... One of the toughest, powerful rb's ever. This guy runs like a wild horse.

I always liked his "anti-celebration" when he scored. He would just make a slow jogging turn in the end zone and casually let the ball drop rom his hand like he was just done with it. Very cool.

I sometimes wish he would have went to a different team back then. The Oilers ran him too much in my opinion, it just got old.

It was once said, "The problem with Earl Campbell is, he has the speed to go to the oustide and score, but given the chance, he'd preffer to make the secondary pay."

It appears, Earl was addicted to taking hits, and making the defense just look weak.




Earl made me a pro football fan, but since he stood on the field decades ago, no one else has ever played with his power, and his dignity...no chest beating, no non sense celebrations...just putting the ball down and walking away..his job

well said! i loved earl campbell! what a player. the best combo of speed and pure power i've ever seen. he just played the game the right way, as you said.

1:03 Earl looks like the incredible hulk or some kind of super hero running the ball! If he played today everybody even Ray Lewis would be scared to tackle or Earl and that's a fact!
