A lot of Taz-Mania plots in general were lifted from old WB shorts. This show did have its own brand of droll, dry humor, though, so that put just enough of a fresh twist on them, IMO.

The plot is very reminiscent of Bob McKimson's Hippety Hopper series..the little ape even sounds strikingly like Sylvester Junior. See also Friz Freleng's "Tree For Two", another Sylvester classic.
