  • Did you know that interstellar space is full of debris from the disintegration of worlds in the form of asteroids and other subordiante materials?

A world disintegrates when its gravitational force field diminishes in strength and subsides beneath the planet's crust, at first producing asteroid rings around the world, and later on a huge field of debris. In most cases asteroids don't impact worlds, but worlds impact asteroids. Earth's solar orbital trajectorial speed is approximately 66,000 mph

  • I bought Deep Impact some weeks ago.

  • Ok, here I stand and Ive learnt something I didnt know yet :)

  • You should have interviewed Phil Plait. He just wrote a book called Death from the Skies which got released recently, that specifically focuses on threats in space that could destroy Earth, as the name implies.
