i do rhythmic gymnastics, and this is not a big deal AT ALL. maybe its a crime in other countries, but in russia its obviously not a crime, as they wouldn't be showing this on tv! (im russian so i understand everything theyre saying). and the coach isn't even being cruel, she is encouraging her athlete to breath normal and to relax. and the coach at the end tells the tv that the athletes later on come up to her after stretching and ask her to stretch them more. it's normal &definetly not cruel

well, at least they have this soft bed-like thing underneath them. i do this on the cold hard floor!

We have to stretch hard as well but if she is crying in pain then physically she is being pushed too hard.

@damnproudasian898 that is your opinion, even though i happen to vaguely agree .

but its not all americans, just a proportion of them, just mabye a larger proportion than other places. yes, americans are unhealthy compared to us asians, but plenty of them eat organinc food and do good excersize.

and what is an asian? someone who lives in the orient, or someone who who has asian parents? because there are plenty of unhealthy asians who have lived in america their whole lives.

@damnproudasian898 Don't do America. We rock at ballet. Did she even warm up?. She's crying because it hurts. Yes stretching can hurt, but if your crying it's an overstretch which will end your dancing career quickly.
