While learning the other version, I wondered if i could find another version, perhaps with more edge, spice, and soul. And Voici! I found this on LimeWire. I like it more, and has more fire, and really has that funk. After the first nine minutes of the whole thing, it really funks, and turns on the 'Mambo' in Moanin Mambo.

PS: Since the song is like 12 minutes I had to split it in two.

  • Where is this track available?

  • @nateberly

Limewire. If you can find the album "Live In Time" By Mingus, it is on there; but I have found no places that have this album.

  • This is DEFINITELY Ronnie Cuber. Pepper Adams seldom used altissimo and nver above an "a"

  • Thanks, I fixed it.

  • I'm literally shaking from the sound coming from this man's instrument

    Guess which one guys!

  • ronnie cuber is the sexiest bari player alive!!

  • Thanks for posting this gem. The recording "Live In Time" is actually by the Charles Mingus Big Band and it was released as a double CD which appears to be out of print. I checked out amazon and new copies are being sold for BIG bucks, but I ordered a used copy for under $7. Hope this is helpful.

  • although someone rushed at the beginning this version absolutely 'goes to town on sh**ing all over the original

  • @ansyf125 Like so many other hard to find items, this CD is available on GEMM. I have used them many times obtain out of print CDs: gemm.com

  • hilarious rush! trombone player shits himself

  • @ChuCkyKiLLER001 no its originally played on trombone

  • @killerfasthuh but in this version, Ronnie Cuber mixed a little Mike Brecker into his playing!!! ;)

  • @ChuCkyKiLLER001

Like the version that's in the bar on the right? I'm pretty sure that version had a trombone on a plunger mute. I'm not a hundred precent sure. I'll bet a quarter on it.
