The Marings play around with two D1 Air Kits on set and the results are shots that are, "soft and pretty with a perfect touch of sophistication." Watch this video to learn how they achieved this with a four light set-up.

First, an umbrella on a D1 was used to illuminate the background. Then to brighten the back of the subject, a Magnum Reflector on a D1 Air was placed behind her. This gives the photo a 3D effect plus a sprinkle of glamour. A 10-degree Honeycomb Grid on a D1 Air was used to focus the light on her face. Lastly a Softbox Octa was used to showcase her outfit.

D1 Air monolight gives great consistency with color temperature and output. Additionally, the ease of having four lights in two cases makes for very stress-free traveling and no hassle when it comes to setting up or breaking down lights; you can transition smoothly from one set up to the next.

  • @tomaszchrulski ???? what are you even talking about? Sync speed?? what in the world does any of what you said have to do with fill being used or "Needed" in this white room when It would be a dark painted or toned room that would suck up light a lot more and need some extra fill via that umbrella. Sync speed loosing sharpness? hair blowing??? Oh yah all 3 of those things have something to do with fill... I think I may hear the town calling for their missing person..

  • @rmstudio I assume the guy was at sync speed all the time and could be afraid of loosing sharpness in the moving hair or simply they wanted to have nice fall off of the light and be in full control of it in the shot.

    Tom.

  • Nice video, especially the fading in between two photos to show the difference of the added light. More such videos please!

  • Now this is a much better "Realistic" and true to form lighting setup and excution. The funny part how he says we are shooting in a "Bright White" room and needed to put a umbrella to brighten the room up. Pretty funny considering a white room allows light to bounce all around the room it would be a darker toned room that you would have to worry about having to add a bit of extra fill light to brighten a room.

  • @fo0g Thanks!

  • @rolceron looks like a bowens jet stream

  • Can anybody tell me what brand of fan they used here?

    Thank you!
