(Just realized the site I used for lyrics led me in the wrong direction. It's "Cheatin' Songs", not "Country Songs." Sorry.)

Lee Ann Womack has always been one of my favorite artists. Her voice is so pure, and the songs she picks to sing are always amazing. That said...I thought I'd try this one out. Feel free to critique...but keep in mind these are all just because I enjoy learning songs and messing around with singing!

Last Call

I recognized your number
It's burned into my brain
Felt my heart beating faster
Every time it rang
Some things never change
That's why I didn't answer

(Chorus)
I bet you're in a bar
Listening to a country song
Glass of Johnny Walker red
With no one to take you home
They're probably closing down
Saying, "No more alcohol"
I bet you're in a bar
'Cause I'm always your last (call)

I don't need to check that message
I know what it says
"Baby, I still love you"
Don't mean nothing when there's whiskey on your breath
That's the only love I get
So if you're calling

(Bridge)
Call me crazy but
I think maybe
We've had our last call

(3rd Chorus)
I bet you're in a bar
It's always the same old song
That Johnny Walker red
By now it's almost gone

But baby, I won't be there
To catch you when you fall
I bet you're in bar
'Cause I'm always your last call

  • awesome

  • You have talent. Don't worry about clearing you're voice early on, though. You have a rougher "man" voice for this song. You're good, but you are capable of better. Regardless, great job.

  • Good job! Love this song, you've got skills!

  • I love your version !! It's great to hear the song from a male voice. Your sound is pure and organic. Could you post your version of more L. Womack songs, like "The Last Time" (from her "There's More Where That Came From" CD) ??? Pls

  • that is really good
