Victorville 10-17-09 FIRE Burns Sprint Car Driver Johnny McCall after winning the Main Event

Watch as they try and use fire extinguishers to try and keep the fire burning the driver as they try and get him out of the car. Finally he is lifted out of his car and treated on the ground then taken by Ambulance to the Hospital where I learned from the tracks website that he has second and third degree burns and has gone into surgery. You can check Victorville race track website for more updates He did a great job of driving and deserved the win. Have not been told where or how the fire got started or where it came from

Yes it was - Catching fire after he wins the race. Never seen that happen before

Yeah, I was the one in the 36 car being towed right into him.... I remember thinking, "Look how excited he is after winning the race..... He parked the car in turn 1" no one new he was on fire. kinda weird! he was all unbuckled and could not get out due to his r7 device or hans? which ever he had on.... I think it was the r7..... That was really crazy
