@PABERCRO I got the bike now. Had to put in another starter, though previous owner paid for a used one. Also installed a radio for it. Like you said all the wiring was gone, but it was simple to re-wire (if you know what you are doing).
Cool bike, though I have an offer to trade for a K1200RS, which is tempting because of the 4 cylinder "brick" engine and more horsepower.

@PABERCRO Is a police model though previous owner is civilian. Has been well maintained. Actually was going to pick it up but owner wasn't happy with old battery so in installing a new one. He is a motorcycles enthusiast owns a 2000 BMW 1200RS, used to have a RVT RC51 1000r Nicky Hayden bike, also has numerous dirt bikes. Yes, it does not have the radio though closer ratio final 6th gear, higher output alternator and recent 12k service. From what I've read the 1150rt is a very good bike

really cool video, thanks !
@ PABERCO, I can't believe you're giving up one of life's greatest pleasures for a job, although commuting on the train is a good idea but where's your dedication to motorcycles man?? Your ride could be left safely undercover during the week while you're at work, then on your time off it will be eager to reward you with hours of open road touring and the feeling of freedom no car could ever provide... I hope you reconsider buying another one mate, once it's in your blood it's hard to get it out!

@Geoffmetal Haha Geoff - so true - well I haven't given up - in fact I never ended up putting it on Sale - I have kept it and enjoy commuting everyday on it - I've had had the hydraulic Clutch plates replaced since my video and it's just like new again - and is in showroom condition. Love the bike - love the ride - you're right - I have it in my blood now - been riding since 1982 :-) Thanks for your comments Geoff - happy riding

Hi ViggoM35 - (part2) Pro2. Electrics are generally boosted for all the on-board gear Police use (this maybe removed though when they are sold) Con2 They remove the radio gear that comes with the bike so this will be probably missing (unless they put it back) Pro2 You will be replacing a lot older technology in your current Bike with the newer one - better safety standards. Con3 You may have to pay more for a service than you currently do - hope this helps you a little :-)

Hi ViggoM35 - Well I can't claim to be any kind of an expert other than owning this Bike but my previous Bike a XJ900 Yamaha was a ex-police Bike and served me very well - however here are some pros and cons. Con1. Ex-Police bike could have a lot of wear on the Dry Clutch - check that there is no slippage in the clutch and ask if / when it was replaced. Pro1. Police Bike are well maintained for their safety. Con2. There is only one seat so no pillions (some may see this as a positive)
