I believe the Q were more powerful than the Ancients in Stargate based off of what each has done in their respective cinema throughout their shows history and spinoffs.  The ancients, in their energy forms, couldn't go back and forth through time or snap their fingers and move stars around as if they were play things; the Q could do both with a thought. I have only seen the ancient's power used in the destruction to protect planets and go against the Ori (Morgan LeFay)

@DartLuke Its not a machine gun they are pulse fired energy blast, not so different from pulse phasers.

And yes, transwarp hub technology lets the Borg quickly go anywhere in the Milky Way that's connected to the hub. But there's no indication it can cover intergalactic distances. A trip from Earth to the Pegasus Galaxy is roughly 30 times further than traveling between the two most distant points in the Milky Way.

The Q don't count. They're godlike beings that don't even need technology. Kind of like the ascended Ancients, except with no rules against interfering with lesser beings. And we don't really know anything about how advanced the Iconians were. Their signature tech was their gateways, which seem to be near-identical in capability to the Ancients' Stargates.

@RedXlV Nopes....once the borg learn where you are, they can open Transwarp nexus gates to get places near instantly. Reference here:

Even the Federation develops advanced transwarp drives eventually.

Also there are several species MUCH more advanced then anything that was ever shown in Stargate....The Iconians and the Q continuum to name two.

Acient technology in Stargate is ludicrously advanced compared to anything Star Trek. In Star Trek, getting halfway across the Milky Way (such as to launch an attack on Earth) takes the Borg many years. An Ancient warship, on the other hand, can travel between GALAXIES in under a month.

The only viable way to beat the Ancients is to overwhelm them with sheer numbers.
