Code 3 OsciLaser - Balmoral 6117 & Mt Roskill 621, Gore St, 26 Aug 09

Some better action shots of the Code 3 oscillating lights on Balmoral's Salvage Unit. (Note the two above the rear tail-lift as well). Not really that effective compared to the newer strobe or LED setups, but cool nonetheless...
Note also the unusual siren tone. This is the only rig I know of around here with three siren cycle speeds: wail, slow yelp, and this fast yelp...

The Oscilators are main fr intersections. They really should be stuck out a few more inches from the front of the truck.

For approaching intersections maybe. They only have about a 30 degree arc, so they're useless for traffic approaching from side roads... 205 has them mounted facing sideways under the front doors.

A shame you couldn't get those Oscilazers from the front to really show how effective they can be. It also appears that they are mounted aimed slightly downward because of the grill? It looks like the truck grill is sloped inward?

Thanks! Most of my vids of it are in the daytime, not ideal, but the old one I've added as a response to this gives a slightly better angle.
