Bhobbs1985, the Confederacy had a plan to phase out slavery. They didn't have to have it. Also, the Constitution of the United Stated had slavery in it prior to the 13th Amendment.
The Civil War wasn't about slavery. It was about state's rights and taxation. Did you know that the South paid the vast majority of the Federal taxes before 1861?

I take comfort knowing that The Almighty punished all of evil-doers (Gray and Blue, alike) for their barbarism and ungodly acts of oppression in the most brutal manner. Did you know that vultures grew fat gorging on the rotting carcasses of dead Reb soldiers left on the battlefield, sometimes while a wounded Johnny Reb was still alive? I hope Grandpa Goober was conscious as the vultures began ripping away at that sweet rebel meat. A well-deserved agonizing death for a traitor who offended God!
