Dog Training Las Vegas--Schutzhund Retrieve-"The Hold"

Retrieving is fun for dogs and most dogs will happily retrieve until there are rules attached to formal retrieve training--then there usually are big problems. The Schutzhund "hold" requires the dog to hold the dumbbell calmly and firmly without chewing or changing the grip. It is difficult to communicate to the dog exactly what he is supposed to do and then get him to do something which is not a natural behavior. I am using food as his reward.
