The Japanese-American Detainment Camp Memorial was dedicated to Japanese-Americans who were taken from their lives, homes and businesses, and sent to internment camps during WWII. Located at the Merced fairgrounds, the memorial was dedicated in 2009. The cast plaques were designed and manufacturered by Matthews Bronze, Pittsburgh, PA. The statuary of the young girl, sitting and waiting with family luggage was cast by Artworks Foundry, Berkeley, CA.

I designed and cast the large bronze plaques on the wall, and worked with both the foundry that cast the statuary, and the committee that managed the project.
