No they would'nt. Your atoms cannot exist, because the singularity is about 100 billion times smaller than a proton. Your atoms would start to break apart getting toward the event horizon at which point "spagettfication" takes place, but inside the event horizon matter is lost as is spirals in toward one of the other dimensions where gravity dominates.
Only things that disturb me about this are media generated silliness. You would be blinded by and probably vaporised by the light from a feeding black hole if you got withn a close enough distance to see the hole. No matter the debris disc or other crazy infalling matter arrangment, it will radiate enough energy to be as bright as any star, if not brighter. And even a supermassive black hole quescent in space and not feeding will glow nicely from Hawking Radiation.
