"One Dark Night
In the Middle of the Day,
Two Dead Boys
Got Up to Play,
They Stood Back to Back
To Face One Another,
Drew Their Swords
And Shot Each Other,
A Deaf Policeman Heard the Noise
And Ran to Save the Two Dead Boys,
If You Believe This Tale Is Tall
Go Ask the Blind Man,
He Saw It All."

Thanks to pyro1gone1crazy for the suggestion! I remember hearing a couple variations of this poem long ago. But I'd completely forgotten about it until that comment. So perfect for Halloween! Thanks!

  • @mymidnightface If you listen to all of the poem you will find each line is intentionally contradicting.

  • Ohhhh I get it!

One dark night is refering to the blind guy because he can't see, so its always night for him.

In the middle of the day is refering to the Policeman who can see.

The swords are refering to the policeman because he SAW the boys playing with swords.

And the bullets are refering to the SOUNDS that they make, but they werent bullets, it was the clanking of the swords, the deaf guy heard and he thought it was bullets.

And for the 2 dead boys..Well..I'm stumped there XD

  • @tarinacj03

That may be another version of it, but it's says the same thing

  • Twwo words; TIM BURTON

  • @AnimeLoverJuan it doesnt have a meaning the lines are supposed to contradict eachother

  • @chaoticmonkey112 Sorry Uhmmm hes right -.-

  • I love this one :3

  • I always heard it:

On bright day in the middle of the night

Two dead boys got up to fight

Back to back they faced each other

Pulled out their swords and shot each other

The deaf policeman hear all the noise

And saved the lives of the two dead boys

If you don't believe my lie is true

Ask the blind man, he saw it too!

  • its a juicy contradiction

  • @AnimeLoverJuan uhm...no. it's just each line is intentionally contradicting. One dark night in the middle of the day. as in, hurp, night and day.

two dead boys got up to play. They're dead, how can they play??

stood BACK TO BACK to face one another. wut?

drew their SWORDS, and SHOT each other.

a DEAF policeman heard the noise. and came to SAVE the two DEAD boys.

Then the BLIND man saw it.

    your hidden meanings are confusing.

  • @AnimeLoverJuan You are over-thinking it a bit. lol

  • I always heard a version that gos:

One bright day in the middle of the night

Two dead men got up to fight

They stood back to back to face one another

Drew their swords and shot eachoter

If you don't beleive this tale is true

Then ask the blind man he saw it too.
