My first retained video from my HTC Thunderbolt operating as a car dash camera. Basically the video is one that the app automatically retained because I swerved to miss a ballsy deer eating grass on the shoulder of the road (about 23 seconds in I think). I think i'm going to turn the quality up to 720p for a clearer picture and add speed overlays for reference.
For anyone interested in setting up their android phone to do this all you need is a free app from the market called "Daily Roads Voyager" and it records from the front camera in a loop so it doesn't fill up your SD card... and you can set it to automatically retain after a certain g-force and a whole bunch of other cool stuff. Definitely one of my favorite apps!
What mount do you use and do you record directly to your phone? How many minutes or hours of video do you get? Thanks!

@IrishLincoln I use the genuine Verizon branded mount (but i'm assuming it would work for any cell phone carrier). Model number is HTC6400MNT and you can get it on Amazon.
As for the number of hours, it depends on how large your SD card is and how long your battery will last (if you're not charging in the car). The app I used is called "Daily Roads Voyager" and it lets you choose a video quality 240p all the way to 1080p.. its a great app!
