Fakir Durbin Shah(1327--1384)

Prominent mystic poet(moromi kobi) Fakir DurbinShah was born in the village of Noa'rai, Upo-jilla-Chhatak, Dt-Sunamgonj on the 15th of Kartik,1327 Bengali year.
His father Pir Shofat Ali was also a well known mystic-poet and pir.The part of the village he was born in was a small hill, called-'Tara-moni Tilla' is now known as 'Durbin Tila'--which tell us a little about his popularity.
Durbin Shah was a popular mystic-poet,song-writer,singer. His name and fame is well known all over Bangladesh and beyond ! Durbin Shah's published song book called- Prem-Sagor Plli-Geeti(1-5th volume). The songs composed by Durbin shah is a clear reflection of his vast knowledge. DurbinShah has a big number of fan and admirer of his songs still today, after three decades of his death.
We lost this great poet at the age of 57 on 15th of february1977(1384).

  • @classicalperformer Well! you might be right. I think here Kala means Sree Krishno. His body colour was black and he was in love also.

  • This song is favulous!!!! The entire song is so great...but I am not criticizing,but just wanted to tell what I personally felt - Its is that the lirycs,tune were absolutely awesome but only the preludes "Kala Re Kala" has spoiled the whole flavour of this song.Its just like a man singing some Classical song with English rock preludes-Puro Gaantar baaper sraddhyo hoegache!!
