"Tonight You're Mine, Baby" was recorded by the original bad-girl of Rock 'n' Roll and '60s girl-group icon from the Ronettes, Ronnie Spector in 1987 for the now somewhat cult-classic film, "Just One of the Guys." However, the soundtrack has not been given its proper respects by being made available onto CD - only the original, limited vinyl form. Also, Ronnie's track, "Tonight You're Mine, Baby" was not given its proper respects as a career reviving firecracker. This classic and highly underrated '80s power ballad could have easily relaunched this Rock 'N' Roll diva's career that had not only sank because of her nightare husband to controlling and overbearing record producer, Phil Spector, but also practically flopped in the early 1980s with the release of her first official solo album, "Siren." This track and her two '80s albums, "Siren" and "Unfinished Business" (with notable tunes like "Hell of A Nerve," "Love On A Rooftop," "Who Can Sleep," and "Say Goodbye to Hollywood"), would make one wonder why her career never took off like it should have.
So, to pay tribute to the Queen of Rock 'N' Roll, I decided to record my own version of this underrated love ballad, "Tonight You're Mine, Baby." Now since there is no available instrumental track, sheet music, tabs or chords to my knowledge, I had to come up with chords to play myself. Accompanying the piano track I construdcted is a three background parts arranged in three part harmony and a lead vocal, all done by me. So sit back, listen, and enjoy my rendition of what is, in my opinion, a hell of a song!
