No, I mean when you are in the first car, they stop and sit for a spell. Then it goes into the station. By the time you get upstairs, you hear the foghorn and are staring at the back of the boat!

He means if you try to look at it from the 1 platform, not like which tracks the train run on.

This station was built in a time when trains are much shorter than they are today. So this station only fits the first 5 cars. I hope that answers your question. Also, to everyone, be on the lookout because MTA is building a new and better South Ferry station (that's straight and fits 10 cars) and might be equipped with platform screen doors. Then the outer loop will be used as a storage track, i think.

That's not true. The one (1) does not use the inner loop or blocks the 5 line in any way.

first of all, the 5 does not use R142As, and second of all, the 1 runs every 2 to 5 minutes, so whenever a 5 train does cross that loop, there will always be a 1 train blocking it

Would someone videotape a 5 train using the inner loop to bypass South Ferry please?
If possible, tape it as an R142A.
