  • he is using at least 40 PSI on that gun

  • @sesparza83 No, he doesn't. For the wide range of our Permasolid® HS clear coats we recommend a complaint spray gun with a inlet pressure of 29-32 psi.

Please see spray gun manufacturer's instructions.

  • he keeps doing so many passes how doesnt he get runs??? whats his gun pull back

  • @wambam2nv : You have to be aware about lot of parameters: correct spray viscosity, used hardener, spraygun and nozzle size, pressure, etc. Depending on the painter the no.of spray passes can varify. Spray with fully pulled trigger to have a optimized atomization. For HS in 1.5 spray coats it is important, that the first 0,5 spray pass is not to wet/ thick. The layer should be closed, but very thinn, followed by a normal spray coat. With this method you will reach enough film thickness w/o runs.

  • one question, what ratio with thinner do you use for this over speeding?;)

  • @radioxxl AND: Most HS clear coats in the Spies Hecker portfolio are ready for use (RFU), 2:1 with HS hardener (fast-slow) without reducer. Other clears are performing 3:1 with VHS hardener (very high solids) + reducer to adjust the spraying viscosity. Depending on used HS clear, the amount of reducer varies between 10-15%, respecting the VOC legislation.

  • @radioxxl :The mixing ratio of HS clear coat is non-varying and mentioned in the technical datasheet (TDS) and not varying by different application techniques. It is not necessary to change mixing ratios to adapt the material on individual hand writings by different painters.

  • 2 coats...if you only apply 1 coat chances are your not going to have enough material for UV protection...

  • @adi2200us: Yes, you can do overall repairs with the 1,5 coat application methode. It is easy and fast, but you need to use a slow hardener system
