  • Check out Dobro33H's channel here on youtube. Pat and Patrick Costello are excellent teachers and have very good beginner lessons. You can start with Old time banjo -part one. Just a thought, good luck.

  • @kdizzo69 Thank you! I appreciate it!

  • We have the same Banjo! It was also my first. I'm 40, and my reaction at getting it in the mail was similar. It's great for learning on, and also sounds pretty good. Can't wait to hear your first song.

backyardmusic dot c om is the source for this

  • @banjopanther Awesome! It was described as, "perfect for strumming on the back porch," which is just what I had in mind. It stays in tune really well, too. Thanks for commenting!

  • Came here from a link on Banjo Hangout, what kind of banjo is it? If you're just starting out I haven't seen a video better than Rob's to learn a first song. I can't seem to link it here but if you type robbourassaguitarist into youtube you should be able to find his Cripple Creek lessons.

    Good luck and have fun!

  • @septemberidus Thank you very much, I appreciate it! My banjo is a simple five string clawhammer, and I admit, it's made partly from cardboard. But that's fine with me, it plays the notes, so it serves its purpose! I certainly plan to buy another more professional one if everything works out. Thanks again!

  • That's awesome! Sounds like you've got the basic strum down already. A few minutes a day is all it takes. It's amazing what you can learn in a few minutes a day. Good luck!

  • I'm very glad to know that you got your banjo!

I'm looking at forward to hear your first song!
