@12m34w12 and you never will

it is actually cyl no 8 with a higher fuel pressure than the others... its kind of like a dead end for fuel flow... this "knock" can be quieted up with a fuel line link on the back side of the engine... easily be done by a novice mechanic... that sound and mis you hear is no problem its just the nature of the beast and also that $78 dollar compressor wheel helps with that sound... hope this helps... but ur just fine the way it is
-
did the knocking sound go away after you replaced the ipr sensor I have a 97 f350 7.3 that has 86k in it and i can hear a slight knocking sound comming from the back of the motor
-
how many miles you got on her i got a 94 powerstroke 228,000 and still going strong i cant kill the dang thing
-
it wasnt a cord it was the mount for the cb mic
-
I love the way the first gen Powerstrokes sound !!
-
what was the cord hanging out from under your dash? thanks
there is nothing you can do about that. she sounds like a healthy 7.3 man. i spent thousands of dollars on aftermarket injectors trying to get rid of that miss fire sound and it did nothing. not untill i repalaced my clutch and they re-alined my fly-wheel did the sound off miss fire change. but it never went away. i bought that truck at 190000 kms and it has 356000 on it now and still runs like a top

It ended up being the IPR. The IPR ended up sticking and caused the truck to have no power. Everytime I put my foot on the gas it would cause the CEL to come on and through a code. I changed the IPR and she runs great now.
