Letter 3. [London, March 1767]
Yorick has dined with the 85 year-old Lord Bathurst, who had been a friend of Alexander Pope and who proposed a toast to Eliza, expressing a desire to meet her. Eliza has put her picture of Yorick above her writing desk, which pleases him, as does the news that her shipmates are friendly.

This video is part of the Precious Cargo project by the Laurence Sterne Trust at Shandy Hall entitled 'Eliza Draper -- An Absent Presence'. Precious Cargo is part of Yorkshire's contribution to the Cultural Olympiad, Stories of the World project. The exhibition opens in May 2012.
