SONY FX HDR 1000 DEMO

I just got this bad boy handycam for xmas. And so i thought i through up a demo video, for users thinking of buying the Sony HDR-FX 1000. This camera is great for auto - focusing and selecting objects to blur out.

I really enjoy this camera, and so i though i would shoot some stuff of my cat tiger. It is a HD camera, record on Mini DV tapes. And works with a mac :D

One problem with the camera, if you buy from sony!
*Sony doesnt provide the I.LINK cable, so go to your local best buy to buy the IEEE 4 PIN / 6 PIn fire wire cord. If you have the new macbook, its 4/4 PIN. Im on the older macbook, so i got a dynex 4 pin (camera plugin) 6 pin firewire plugin. Other wise, sony provides all the other stuff. And theirs no software to be installed.You just need imovie or final cut hd....

how does it work with sports shot when you slow motion them? is it focused good? im talking about something like a sportscar doing some high speed turns, snowboaring, etc...

It is funny you mention sports, i attend a snowboard academy, and use this camera everyday, it works very well in slow motion, it is pretty much the most surperb camera, but as putting it in slow motion in final cut, you will have to cut it up into 3 different parts if you make it slow motion. And as for the progressive scan , it works well with high speed shots.

are all 4 pin to 4 pin cables the same? In other words, their not a combination of male to male, male to female, female to female ends, right? I have a Sony DCR-HC90E Handycam and a Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop.

Nice movie! How do you decide between hdfh and hdfx mode (or hdlp or hdhq for that matter)? I just got a Sony HDR cx550v and have iMovie 08 but might need 09 or might wait for 11' when it comes. My goal is to get videos to YouTube at 1080p. Thanks much.
