Spirituality, Environmental Justice & Human Rights (Martha Gallahue)

Martha Gallahue is an Ethical Culture Leader certified by the American Ethical Union and Main Representative for National Ethical Service, Ethical Culture's voice at the UN where she facilitates a Working Group on Climate Change in association with The Committee on Sustainable Development. This group pursues a robust commitment from all governments to reduce the impacts of climate change as well as a moral/ethical perspective on the interrelatedness of climate change and peace. Within the Ethical Culture Movement, a religious Humanist organization, she initiated several AEU Resolutions on behalf of The International Criminal Court, Dept of Peace within the Pentagon, and secured endorsements for the Student World Assembly and the United Religions' Initiative.
During National AEU Assemblies, she has presented many workshops and written articles for the AEU Dialogue.
She has spoken in 15 Societies and Circles across the country. She is interim Leader with the Essex Society
for Ethical Culture in Maplewood, NJ. Martha recently has participated in National Peace Academy"s intensives
and works on the faculty as an Edu-learner small group facilitator. Martha was certified as a psychoanalyst
by the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis and received her Master of Arts degree in
comparative religion from the Columbia University/Union Theological Seminary joint program.
