Yes, they just transmitted black after that. Do not know if they are still transmitting that, or if the transmitter was shut off.

I've been trying to get CKX from Winnipeg since I was a kid, I tried every antenna I could get my hands on, but stupid CBWT always swamped it.

I looked at the TV guide and there was nothing to watch in Winnipeg, and then I see ANOTHER good movie on in Brandon, but "we don't get THAT channel".

This is SHAW's fault, you'll carry crap channels nobody would willing pay for let alone watch, and force people to pay for them in packages of stuff they do want.

SHAW, YOU SUCK !!!

It's too bad that CKX had to sign off for good because a corporate conglomerate backed out of the deal. I read on Wikipedia that they were offered a dollar to buy the station! I live here in the States and I could've bought the station for a dollar. Then all of those people wouldn't have been out of a job. But I know investors would've been sought and in this day in age, that is hard to do. Someday, CKX will be like a phoenix rising from the asses.

The CTVglobemedia banner at the end of most CTV-owned television stations usually has the ribbons beneath it unlike what they used on this station with the "Copyright 2009" beneath it.
