  • Christ... I really shouldn't have watched this shit when I was growing up

  • @onionships You did what Anno WANTED you to.

Seriously, Anno recommends kids watch this. He says it has an "important message" for kids.

No, I don't get it either.

  • El famoso programa de complementacion humana, busca desde lo profundo del ser lo que mas añora el alma y eso te muestra antes de volverse el fluido de la vida.

  • @AzazelZaphorOmega

Your religious views are of your own creation. Anno's use of Biblical figures and ideas boils down to nothing more than a very typically Japanese interest with anything not Japanese. You're reading WAY too much into this if you think the religious imagery is anything more than texture.

  • @AzazelZaphorOmega Yeah, I'll never understand what you've drawn from the latter.

  • everyone exploded to orange juice.

  • @AzazelZaphorOmega I was an atheist before I watched it, so it had a bit less of an impact on me, though it did offer an interesting insight into human compassion.

  • @Ohai4chan Right on! 26 episodes (and maybe a movie or two) should always be enough of what an anime has to say. That's why I hate long winded shows like DBZ, overdrawn and pointless plots and inferior animation. But then again, this was one of the first anime's I ever watched (at age 10). So maybe that has something to do with! :) It kind of gives me a highly critical sense of taste. It's like eating expensive foreign foods and then suddenly being forced to eat McDonald's.

  • @hotelmario510 That's hilarious to me cuz I first watched Eva when I was 10. This was before the English dub of the movies even existed. (I'm 23 now). It warped my mind and perceptions not only of anime, but of Life/Religion too. I was scratching my head over the show ending for 6 years before I could watch this movie. Needless to say, my own life path and things I took from this anime have caused me to be an atheist. :)

  • Fuck this scene.

No, not really. But seriously, the entire sequence of Instrumentality still terrifying and totally alien to me after seeing it three times. I'm not kidding, it freaks my shit out.

  • Or "Weeaboo Hey Jude"
