Every copyright lawyer in the world will tell you that whether "nothing is sold" and "the owner isn't making any profit off of the usage" has absolutely nothing to do with copyright infringement. The copyright protects against copying, usage, and performance, period. Regardless of whether money is involved.

I know that this concept is hard to accept, but read the statute. That's what it says.

I see your point, and I have to agree from a business standpoint. From a consumer's standpoint, it's all just inconvenience. Thank you for being mature about it, however.

Of course it's inconvenient from a consumer standpoint, what else could it be? I find it very inconvenient to have to go to work to pay for everything I need, but that's the way it is. From WMG's point of view if they went out of business because they didn't make enough money to cover the costs of producers, artists, musicians and art directors we wouldn't have that dilema and Google wouldn't give a shit trust me.

Maybe so, but competition is competition. If one can legally gain money from a competitor, it's just business to do so.

Sorry, you're talking in riddles now, who's legally gaining money from a competitor? We're talking about 'illegally' downloading music. Anyway I'm done with this conversation, I can tell from your remarks you're not very intelligent. Happy downloading - if you get caught WMG will have the last laugh.

If you're dead set on discontinuing the conversation, then don't reply. I never said anything about illegally downloading music. Of which, I do, in fact, have a problem with. In no way or form did I ever even imply that I illegally download or steal any music. Again, there really is no need for childish insults. There may have been a misunderstanding, I was speaking of Google's advertisements here on YouTube, with the WMG's songs featured in videos.

We've been talking about WMG and a video which has had it's music rescinded .. try to keep up - I brought Google adverts into the conversation - I don't think you understood the plot until then, or maybe you did and you just like an argument - who knows? .. maybe you do have a problem with illegally downloading music - but you don't seem to have a clue what's legal and what isn't - if you think you can make a video and put a copyrighted song to it, that's illegal - as I said happy downloading.
