Cassidy part 6

Here in this video I demo a unique trick Cassidy has learned. She will mouth with no audible vocalization as if she were "talking". I have not seen another dog that does this. I am sure there are some out there. Not difficult to teach but it is hard to control the response when it is hot and she is panting. In addition, she has been taught two different vocalizations. I taught her this for movie work. This way she could look like she was talking and the production people could voice in words later. You will also see a short section on the end of the tape of her hitting a mark. She is trained to go and stand on a small metal disc with a rubber insert. The rubber insert can be removed and used in doors with out the heavy metal disc. I use the heavy disc because I can slide it anywhere with my feet by just a quick shove. I can also send her with just a hand signal to the mark. I can motion her off the mark and to another one of the same size. This is used in movie work on occassion. Some call it target training and others call it going to a mark.
