From Episode 27 of my podcast Knitting Pipeline. See photos of the finished shawl at www.knittingpipeline.blogspot.com. This is a beautiful way to finish off a knitted (or crocheted) shawl or wrap. I found it in the book Faith, Hope, Love, Knitting by Lorna Miser. Be sure the buy the book! You will need a crochet hook. You also need to load the beads (size 6 seed beads generally) onto your working yarn prior to working this bind off. I am adding a video of how I strung the beads. The method is a bit slow, but so worth it!

  • Is that by any chance the Citron Shawl? Just curious because I'll (hopefully!!!) be finishing mine soon and was wondering if a beaded edge would look nice.

  • Great video, very helpful!

  • Great tutorial, I would love to see the finished product. Is it on a blog somewhere?
