James Hale has been a devotee of Dune Buggies from an early age, and has driven, built, manufactured, photographed and written about them in the years since. He is the leading authority on Buggies for many magazines including Volksworld, Ultra VW, VW Trends and VWM, and is the author of The Dune Buggy Handbook and Those were the days the Dune Buggy phenomenon (also published by Veloce), and Dune Buggies (published by MBI). He has a vast collection of toy buggies, and related ephemera, and has been interviewed by media worldwide to discuss his enthusiasm for these fun cars. His own buggy is an exact replica of the Chevrolet Corvair-powered Steve McQueen Thomas Crown buggy. He lives in Brighton, England.
