I don't think the video is that conceptual at all, the concept is fairly easy to grasp. Couldn't you say that Patton's section could be a comment on the state of certain modern comedy and Byrne's section a comment on the state of modern music? I really like the video, I think its a good short film and you should take it for what it is :) .

These comments are hilarious. You people realise you are criticising a DVD SCENE SELECTION MENU as if it were a short film? This is from Wholphin, a serialised DVD magazine from McSweeny's.
You know when you put in a DVD, and the menu has little animations or videos that keep going, and if you leave it on, they do something stupid/cute?
Thats what you people are mocking. The little video that plays when you fall asleep during the first Wholphin video. Its supposed to be a dumb little thing.
