@PintJohnBull No one had jungle training. The only unit to have have considered it and applied it were the Argyl and Suth. Highlanders.

racist terms such as "chink" in which you use only serves to reveal your numerous inadequacies

Oh,and i suppose the glorious allied soldiers fought to the bitter end?Stalingrad a la Singapore style?

NotesCollector your right many Aussies/Kiwis/Indians/Singapor
eans were NOT Cowards, they were not trained up to the standared at that point which was required. British were the only ones fully trained with jungle fighting techniques a few odd allies also that could fight on and they did.
Japanese were disgusting though what they did to Commonwealth nurses, prisoners of war and the Singapore civillians was nothing short of monstrous.

Lets be clear about one thing the British army units wanted to and could fight on even longer than what they did, and they were holding and checking the Japanese in the jungles right up until they were ORDERED to surrender by Commonwealth high command.
By this time Singapore Civilian population was taking a severe hammering, and losses of civys were getting heavy.
But if the Commonwealth forces had been as half well trained as the Brits here it would of gone the other way.
I beg your pardon??Not all australian soldiers were cowards,it was just the act of a few that put a stain on the reputation of the rest..besides,you cant blame them that much: 22nd australian Bde had to face the japanese forces alone without air or arty support..hence,how could you blame them when they fought just as well as other men in the malayan campaign?
