@ADoseofReality1 - I'm with you on this bud. The band performed at the Coors Amphitheater in San Diego a few years ago and what a disgrace. Ed and Sammy were totally shitfaced. Ed couldn't play worth a damn and Sammy just spoke the lyrics instead of sing them. Couldn't believe the audience actually cheered. What a disappointment. I expected more. I left early.

hes the on who invented the gawd damned solo he can play it how ever he wants. its just that simple. just in case you dont know there is a thing called change and another called variaty its just a simple change in the style and the sound of the guitar aswell in lwan he had a single humbucker pickup in his kramer giving it a different sound and same with the frankie the setup and construction of the guitars was completely different that guitar is 40 years of ed fucking around with guitars GO ED

Wow... just awful.....this is just before the tour stopped for awhile and Ed went back to rehab. When the tour resumes after April 17,2008, Ed is sober and playing awesome. Let's all hope he stays sober from here on out. Let's hope we don't see this anymore.

@NeckPickup If you base his playing on one vid. And not his career as a whole, you are very narrow minded. He is one of the most clever guitarists that ever walked the earth. Because of him you find Fender strats with humbuckers in the bridge. The musical relationship he has with his brother is untouchable. Check out Live without a net. His solo is genius. Rock on ED!

someone told me EVH was a good guitarist and worth checking out, ... this isnt that good IMO, it sounds pretty bad. not a very good player at all.

he did meth before the reunion with hagar...van halen is not that great at playing anymore. i saw this on another video, ill choose to reiterate it...
