When nine-year-old Courtney, one of the child stars from the recent BBC documentary 'Poor Kids', told viewers that her dream was to ride a horse, little did she know that, courtesy of the British Horse Society, dreams really can come true!

I agree w/ SusiePiePony, this is a precious gift to this little girl, but I would also find it much more enjoyable if there were no bits & whips.
icklesquish -Did you mean can't?
I don't understand why such 'facilities' can't be offered by anyone. Ponypros simply apply positive training methods. :) I'm not sure I understand what would make a pony who is trained by fear tactics safer than a pony who is trained with positive reinforcement.

This reminds me of the kids the attend my special riding camp every summer. Those little girls looked like they really loved this opportunity! Great job! I hope they get the chance to do it again sometime ;)

lovely video. Well done BHS. Brings back memories of my own daughter learning to ride at a BHS riding school. Love the part where she was able to brush her pony. I hope Courtney gets another chance to ride.

Well unlike SusiePiePony I know that not many places can offer such facilities, and claims for injuries are often steeper in the UK (and they use bits too).
I personally think it's a super video and a lovely way for a little girl to attain her dream :) I hope that this isn't the last time she's in the saddle!

Love Courtney's smile, hate the bits and whips, if they could take a similar approach to ponypros.net and let those children "be" with the horses because they love the horses, it would be much nicer to watch. Good intentions from bhs though, so well done.
