It was written by Cannonball Adderley in the early '60's! The Chorus went,"Hold it steady while I hit it,yeah, that oughta Git,Im'working,I'm Working,I feels like the Devil on the road!"

The CBS-TV Special Herb and his Brass did in 1968! Another Special worthy of DVD Issue!

I played this in my high school band in 1972 or 73. Loved it then, love it now!!

I always thought of this song as "Mariachi Ska".

BEAT OF THE BRASS - one of the BEST albums ever! I think I wore out the grooves listening to it when I was a young girl, even recognizing how cool this music was. Alpert really defined his whole own genre. Nobody else has ever come close!
