"I want to leave."

"What do you mean?" We sat down on my bed.

"I want to go. I don't want to be here anymore." I heard him sigh. He loosened his grip on me and pulled away, putting his hands together and laying them in his lap.

He looked down then put one hand on the back of his neck, then slowly looked at me. "I'll go with you."

I shook my head. "No, Joe. You are trying to be s-,"

"Miley, I don't care what you have to say. I hate this place. I never wanted to come - I just wanted-," he stopped for a second, "I just don't want to be here."

"You're just saying that be-,"

He stood up fast. "No, Miley. I never wanted to come here.. I just wanted to make my dad happy by trying to be somebody. You know how he is - he thinks lowly me." We were in silence for a few minutes. He crossed his arms and looked around the room during the time being.

"So, what are you saying?"

He shrugged and put his hands in his jacket pockets. "I guess we could.. I don't know.."

"I was stupid to come here.. I thought at the time leaving, starting my own life, and becoming somebody was a goal.. But not this early. I want to have fun - I want to make the 1 remaining year of being a teeanger exciting." I mumbled loud enough for him to hear.

"Well.. Your birthday in two weeks. You'll be nineteen.. You can start an exciting last year then."

I looked at up at him shortly after he spoke. "You- you remembered my birthday?" I didn't even remember my own birthday. My mind has been on so much stuff that I just got too stressed out.

He smiled and sat down next to me. "Of course I did, why wouldn't I?"

I shrugged and looked down, setting my hands on both sides of me. "You know, you're not supposed to be in here."

He smirked. "I never get caught, and neither does Nick." I laughed and stood up.

"Let me go get dressed.. We can do something afterwards, I guess." He nodded and left.

I got dressed, and we ended up seeing a movie. Afterwards, we went by McDonalds for something to eat. It snowed unexpectedly overnight, so of course, we had a snowball fight. I felt.. happy with Joe. When I got back, I saw Nick. I confronted him about my birthday.. I asked him when it was. His response? "You had your birthday last month! You're turning 20 years old next year!"

Douche Bag.
