Hey everyone!

This piece is special to me. I have to tell you how much i love the movie The Last Samurai, watched it a lot of times and i love everything about it, the atmosphere, the scenery, the conversations.. it all matches so well together.

I am a big fan of Japan anyway, of samurai and i myself collect katanas and other samurai swords (and yes, just for the right feeling for this video i placed one of them on my sheet music stand ^^)
Soo.. i listened to this piece i don´t know how many times in my life already.. it just gives you peace while listening (i highly recommend that you listen to the original as well, not only my cover, it really is beautiful, Hans Zimmer is just a genius!)

A good friend on youtube, Noud (juggernoud1: http://www.youtube.com/juggernoud1) was so very kind to send me the sheet music that he arranged himself.
You can obtain it here:

Ok, about the video: i planned on playing this with my piano`s strings, as it would sound more like the original, but it is not the same. Sounded kinda weird to be honest. So i decided to play the first half of it piano only, and in the second half i added strings, this way it suits the arrangement better anyway.

I hope you like it, i gave my best, i even had chills during playing it myself lol ^^

and i guess you have to be very patient, since it is a slow and dreamy piece :)
Anyway, enjoy!

~Alex

  • katsumoto will be proud of you..i see you have his sword

  • @DimitrisFioras thanks a lot! but it´s not his sword. It´s a katana, yes. but it´s not a replica of any of the swords in the movie.

  • Epic

  • @Marakasa1 thanks!! glad you like it :D

  • I play electric guitar, I like its sound and power.. I listen to hard rock and alternative rock... strong music, but..... I had to admit that piano create something special when you listen to it. Where guitar gives you energy piano transports you in another world, and you turn to reality only when the last note is played.

  • I've become quite a fan of the music in this movie, Hans Zimmer is truly amazing. And I have to say you captured all the emotion I feel when listening to his original in this piece. Thank you very much.

  • @romanitza24 Thank you very very much! i dont know what to say :)

you say it could be on the OST, that is really flattering and a huge compliment. Highly appreciated!!

Thanks for the comment, and yes.. the sword on the piano was a must for this video :)

  • @acuity1980 I have to completely agree with Piccoloclone, the same emotion beautifully captured. Your interpretation is really outstanding. It could easily be put on the original soundtrack release and would only honor the music. :) I also loved the video itself, with the sword and the piano :)

  • @TheHistoryGuy1993 wow... thank you for the kind compliment!!

  • Talent at its finest.
