Volkswagen 1.6 TD start up

Kinda has a lopey idle. Maybe it will smooth out after break in.

Internal pressures were too high for starters and I had the incorrect return springs off the pump head. Adjusted the regulator and replaced the springs and its a new car again.

Thanks man, I actually got it smoothed out quite a bit.

The pump I built doesn't like idle, pumps 3x the stock levels out :)

Anyway, I've made some adjustments and it's much better now.

It was 25deg outside when I took this.

The main reason for the vid was to show the lopey idle. It should be much smoother.

The IP has a 1.9aaz camplate in it and other than the larger (much) injectors it's a stock engine. Timing was set to 1.0mm pop off set @ 139bar.

I think it sounds good! I have an 86 Golf 1.6 and I wish mine sounded like that!!!

Wow, does the engine starts up that way always? I own a 1.6Td VW van and os not like this...
