Segaworld London Tour

A short segment from a home video I took back in 1998, showing the (now closed) Segaworld in London's Trocadero. I look around four of the themed floors - Race Track, Flight Deck, Carnival and Sports Arena.

Last time I went to the Trocadero (October 2011), I found that even the smaller Funland arcade has closed down. There are a couple of machines on the ground floor, but no proper arcade any more.

Back then we had Arcades with Street Fighter and Daytona racing games.

Now we have Xbox Live with Modern Warfare and Wii Fit.

I've always found these coin operated fighting machines are a magnet for trouble. There this group of scumbag adults in a leisure centre arcade once and this little 7 year old accidentally pushed the button on their game and they all started assualting the kid physically and the premises didn't do fuck all about it. These violent games can have an effect on some peoples minds. SOrry but these places are generally trouble magnets back in the early 90s to a certain point

Thank you so much! im a big sonic the hedgehog fan & my cousin said when he was younger he went to Sega world with the family! im 14 and i've been to Funland that was orginally Segaworld & i compare funland to Segaworld so terrible.. i wish Segaworld never sold it.

Last week they started the building work inside Trocadero to turn the old Sega World floors into a pod hotel for the 2012 London Olympics.
