A crappy footage of some of my fishes enjoying some sinking pellets.
The dark colored and the dominant is the senior maculatus, the other one was added a month ago. My plan is to replace all the African jewel cichlids with 4-5 more macys if I get hold of them.

  • Did u got any spawning from any of these cichlids buddy..??

ie. Bimaculatus or Chromides or from Firemouth..>>

  • Macs are one of my favourite cichlids, will dedicate a native tank for them sometime in future.

They tend to color up in aquaria, dont know the reason, they are usually very pale when caught.

  • R U in India Buddy..

  • Yes I am.

I never desire to breed commonly available fishes. Those macs never bred in my tank. And firemouths, all were male, now I dont have them any more.

  • They are pretty tough guys, they get a little washed out while I change water, they get normal in an hours time.

  • Thank you hamza,

Do you find orange chromide very sensitive to water changes?

I find they are not as strong as other cichlids. Their faces look very exotic too!

If you see my video, I have two baby red chromides. One died yesterday with no symptom. It was breathing a little heavy. I went to make tea, when I came back in 10 minutes. It was lying on the bottom dead.

  • thanks! thats a good idea, I'll leave this tank for chromides n other natives when I get a bigger tank for my texas cichlid.

  • Thats some local dried shrimp n fish mix...loaches love it

  • What are the white beads which you feed your fish?

  • Nice tank. I like the fact that you made it more asian biotope (minus the jewel cichlids and firemouths).
