With over 36 million cell phone users registered in South Africa in 2007 and more than 2.5 billion active users worldwide, it is not surprising that South Africas biggest restaurant guide has now gone mobile.

Already, says Hutton, more than 70% of new subscribers purchase 3G capable handsets and within 2 years most people will have internet access with them wherever they are.

An online restaurant guide is a particularly mobile relevant application explains Hutton as the operation is simple to use and offers the user almost the same multimedia experience as on an Internet PC .

Already, Dining-OUTs internet based restaurant guide features over 800 local restaurants complete with trading hours, colour photos, full menu, map and directions and much more. All this information is now available on the new mobile based version of this popular website.

New restaurant search techniques have been implemented to make the hunt for restaurants easier and the operation uses fewer screen downloads than on a PC. In addition, the new website caters for the smaller screen display and also has the ability to detect the screen size of the user handset and adjust the display automatically. A new facility is the click and book feature which allows you to connect directly to the restaurant to make a reservation.
