can you only do this with like SLR Cameras ? I use a KODAK Easyshare C713 Digital as SLRS are out of my price range. Any tips on those kind of cameras ?

@HotHeadReviews very good comment however the one problem you encounter with slr cameras is that you cant manually change the shutter speed and that is the key component to everything. i recommend just using the traditional ways with a black backdrop. make sure your subject is well lit and move your backdrop as far back from your subject as you can. make sure there is no creases or places of contrast in your backdrop and you should be set. i hope this helps :D

@Abluetee2 thanks man . I assume a dslr is a digital slr then and better than an slr ?
I'll need to build a light box and get some black paper to bend.
Thanks again

@HotHeadReviews typically yes- they are better but you could get an slr that does even better than a dslr- the difference is in the fact that a dslr is customizable and has modes such as manual. to be honest im not an expert in the difference between them but i know a bit so i would recommend checking out a youtube video that explains the differences.
best luck shooting-
