UPDATE:
=============
This video is already obsolete. The latest GT5 stuff could be found on E3 2010.

First of all, I have to give a thank to w8101 on helping me taking this video.

A trial on the latest built of Gran Turismo 5 in Asian Game Show (AGS) 2009.
Test session featuring 3 cars: Toyota FT-86, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and Ferrari 458 Italia
...and 1 track: Tokyo R246
Movie featuring Ferrari 458 Italia w/ no aids, sim physics difficulty, highest force on force feedback and uses Racing R3 tyres. Steering wheel is Logitech Driving Force GT.
Comments...

Pros: Greatly enhanced car physics from all Gran Turismo series. Force feedback comes more rational approach. Cars can opposite lock to perform drifting or to save over a spin. Tokyo R246 featured some objects that you could crash into, and cars can be damaged or at least you can trade some paints on non-damageable cars like the Ferrari (not shown in this movie).

Cons: Would be better if the next version of GT could add more AI cars to tense up the race...and yes... AI cars are indeed horrible in their reaction with player car. They would only go after the racing line without thinking where the player is. They just crash their way to their pre-defined racing line, not try to evade, slow down or bypass the player car. In this movie, the AI car crashed its way by performing a PIT maneuver to me, forcing me to the last position.

  • I love granturismo the gt1... gt2... gt4.., but chicken shit! this game is overrated!. i hate it, they can never replicate what it is being a racer in real life..

    Real racer - professional

virtual racer - geeks, they often think this is 99.9% in reality only without feeling in outside world..

playing this game virtual..alone inside.. its like your own world full of dull rivals with no life

  • @montoya6k then, why not jump to professional race sim titles with accurate physics like GTR2, rFactor, iRacing or Richard Burns Rally? or if you devote your life on racing, why not just pop yourself on one of your local kart track and start your racing career?

  • horrible engine sound...

  • @omghellapissed This video is recorded using a Digital Camera inside a very noisy environment, and the game sound is playback using the Sony TV in front of me. Thus, this video can't judge the game engine sound.

Do note AGS is just like CES with quite noisy environment. I'm definitely NOT playing this on a extreme quiet studio with a surround sound system by that time this video is recorded.

  • GT5>NFSS>Forza 3. And this is my opinion. This is THE racing game.

  • Gamme is awesome nd fun.! If it had better damage.! OMG I'll luv it! Lol

  • @Martinezjoelbachmann In addition, as of today, there is no mechanical damage in the final retail version of GT5, however....

(NOT CONFIRMED NEWS) it seems Yamauchi-san had think of adding this in future as he mentioned in his official Twitter account.....

  • @Martinezjoelbachmann

By that time I uploaded this video, since it is a GT5 demo, it seems nope.

However, if you are asking the final retail version of GT5, then I can say, partly yes.

The final version of GT5 allows some sort of visual damage on premium cars only, that is, the car will change its shape when bumped into other cars, or some parts of the car like bumpers might falls off when you are driving a premium rally car.

  • @omghellapissed they recorded from the car it self, much more acurate than nfs, forza or any other...

  • lol the sls got mad when you tried to pass it
