Holy Saint Nicolas jailed in Belgian nuclear base

Saint Nicolas is a bombspotter. Do It Yourself! Start of a series of Bombspotting actions! Saint Nicolas (a local holy man, who comes around the 6th of december, gives presents to good children and punishes children who behaved badly by putting them in his bag) and four of his helpers entered the airforce base of Kleine Brogel on the 4th of december. They wanted to put the US nuclear weapons in their bag. The Saint was very displeased about his arrest and asked for help from other people, thereby giving the signal to start a series of Bombspotting actions. The Saint doesnt like the fact that there are about 20 US nuclear weapons at Kleine Brogel. The Belgian government doesnt do anything to remove the nuclear weapons. Thats why the Holy Man decided to take action himself. Together with four of his helpers, he climbed over te fence. They tried to reach the hangars where the nuclear weapons are stored by crossing the landing strip. Just after the had crossed the fence, soldiers with dogs arrested them. The filmcrew that was present captured this good deed by the saint. With his action, the Saint gave the signal for a series of Bombspotting actions to start. Vredesactie (Peace Action) calls upon people to harass the base with a series of non-violent actions, from now until the NPT (Non Proliferation Treaty) Conference, may 2010. The Holy Man wasnt too pleased about his arrest: As a holy man, I have to take action myself, because the government isnt doing anything. I am deeply shocked that my mission was thwarted and I call on everyone, young or old, to help me. Come to Kleine Brogel and do something fun, on or around the base. Vredesactie (Peace Action) thinks its high time that Belgian minister of foreign affairs Vanackere puts nuclear weapons on the political agenda. Roel Stynen: President Obama wants to work towards a nuke-free world. The German government wants to remove the nuclear weapons from Europe. Our ministers have to seize the opportunity to open the discussion about the NATO nuclear weapons and make sure the nukes at Kleine Brogel are dismantled. April 3rd 2010, Bombspotters descend on Kleine Brogel en masse. A big action of civil disobediance will paralyse the base. This is exactly one month before the NPT Review Conference starts in New York. There, agreements will be made for the extension of the Non-Profileration Treaty, the treaty wich aims to stop the diffusion of nuclear weapons and in wich nuclear powers promise to disarm.
