Speed Racer first aired a decade before this one in Japan.

The first TV series anime ever made was Otogi Manga Calender which aired in 1961, a few years before Speed Racer. While the first anime ever made in exsistence was  The Story of the Concierge Mukuzo Imokawa which was made in 1917 and holds the title of oldest anime in exsistence.

Your welcome, I too didn't know much of this until I got into more anime. Even as a kid, I didn't know the term word "anime" or even knew the anime I grew up with was even made from a different country. But as a kid I always knew there was something about it that was different from American cartoons.

wow never knew 1973 cartoons were actually really good since there was 1979 gundam then 1982 macross 70 caroons are the best and even so are 80's and 90's classic anime are awsome

hmm reminds me of lupin the third...and a little bit of scooby doo, idk why, but it just makes me :)
