  • this really brings tears to my eyes. why can't we have something like this in Hawai'i? this really would be a gift to the people of Hawai'i....and educated the non-educated!

  • Mahalo for your comment. I really would like to bring it home. The show in it's entirety would make an impact on the Hawaiian Community. My desire is to bring the love I have for my homeland to the masses and the Japanese have been willing to listen.

    Aloha no,

    Kalani

  • I once lived in Hawaii 16 years and two of my children were born on Oahu, I always feel deeply touched by this very meaningful Song.

  • @starlight1946 That would be Emma Veary & you can find some things by her on YouTube. Hers was another beautiful voice, a little more operatic in quality than Nina's, but they were both outstanding at singing the beautiful Hawaiian songs.

  • When I first visited Hawaii we were having lunch in a beautiful hotel in Hilo when Nina's version of this song came on the sound system. The beauty of the song & the quality of Nina's voice absolutely stunned me. I ran to the hostess & insisted she find out what the song was & who the singer was & then stopped in every record store until I had bought everything by Nina I could find. Thank you so much for uploading this. I can't find any other music by Nina on Youtube.

  • Oh how this Song takes me back in time. When I lived 16 years on Oahu this was my favorite Hawaiian Song. This wonderful song was beautifully done with the lady's hula and with a lady's voice.

  • Thank you for this video! I think Nina's version of Hawaii Aloha is the most reverent by far! In general Jack DeMello's arrangements are too "Hollywood" in flavor for me, but he created a solemn, reverent setting for this most adored song!

  • Kalani, you are so talented! I am so proud to call you friend. Missing you...

  • This is Beautiful, its great to see cultures/nations in the Pacific sharing it on here with people all over the world

  • Long ago I heard a lady in Hawaii sing Aloha Hawaii, her name was Emma. This lady sure brought back those memories of Emma's voice singing this favorite song I still love hearing. Hawaii Aloha is a song that I cherish.

  • ALoha i am one of momilani's hula sisters from Yokosuka. I am now back home in the islands and just read her email where she shared with us this nani loa video. love the auana and the vocals. i really love how you have slowed down the mele and allowed the hula dancer to bring out all the emotions in each motion. mahalo nui loa for posting this video it is always wonderful to see the true beauty of Hawai'i and its culture come out and shine like this.

    A hui hou,

    Haaheo
