A distant relative of many modern-day shellfish, it is highly protective of both it's territory and the egg brood clinging to it's back. Once they hatch, each young will burrow into the flesh of their mother and eat her from the inside out. After a week has passed, the sole victor of the violent feeding frenzy will emerge from her hollow exoskeleton, ready to repeat the cycle.
