@theCultureShockband: You need to practice your rudiments for one. make sure you can play all your standard rudiments at different tempos and starting with your left hand. there are also FDL hand sessions to get people ready for auditions that you can attend whether you are auditioning or not. There is information on the gator band website about it each summer so I would recommend attending those and learning some of the warmups FDL plays and learning the school songs and whatnot.
